Member Services

Membership in Indiana MGMA is individual not organizational and is not transferable. The membership year is on a date joined basis. Members represent medical practices and physicians statewide. Practices include Academic Institutions, Community Health Centers, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Integrated Delivery Systems, and Private Practices.

Membership Categories

There are 4 categories of membership -- Individual, Student, Business Partner, Life.

IndividualAn Individual Member is a person who works in a management position in a medical group practice or any other entity where direct management of medical practices is the major responsibility. An Individual Member is entitled to all IMGMA membership services, including the right to vote on all matters presented to the members and to serve as an officer and/or member of the Board of Directors of IMGMA.


Student:  A Student member is a person who is enrolled in an institution of higher learning in a health services administration curriculum.  Student members are entitled to all benefits given to Individual members, but may not vote or serve on the Board of Directors.

Business Partner:   A Business Partner is a company that provides external professional products and/or services to a direct health care services organization.  A Business Partner representative may serve on a committee but may not vote or serve on the Board of Directors.

Life Any person who has been an Individual member for a total of 15 years and who is no longer associated with the health care field in an administrative, consultative, service or sales capacity is eligible for life membership. A Life member is entitled to IMGMA membership services, as determined by the Board of Directors, and may vote and serve on committees.

  1. Legislative Grassroots Advocacy. Education of state and federal elected officials on issues of importance to members. Representation of members on issues such as Medicare reimbursement, ERISA, and local, state and national initiatives.
  2. Professional Development/Networking. Throughout the year IMGMA offers educational opportunities for you and your staff on topics such as billing and coding, customer service, reimbursement, Medicare reimbursement, and state and national legislative issues.
    With a large network of members, IMGMA gives you the opportunity to meet fellow healthcare and business professionals with whom you can share knowledge and ideas. 
  3. Certification. You can  develop your personal leadership potential by becoming certified in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
  4. Information and Communication. Through quarterly newsletters, website, list serve and frequent email messages, the IMGMA keeps you informed. It is your resource for information on topics related to practice management, government affairs, salary and benefits survey, and technology.
  5. Career Center. IMGMA offers an internet job bank to assist you in searching for and posting that special job at no cost to you. Promote your opportunity on the IMGMA Job Bank.
